This morning (9 Teves 5782) European foreign ministers arrived in Brussels for the Foreign Affairs Council. When Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Gabrielius Landsbergis arrived he offered a statement giving some light to the Lithuanian stance regarding the Ukraine-Russia situation. He said "we are convinced that Russia is preparing for the all out war against Ukraine and it's an unprecedented event probably since the Second World War... that means that if it's an unprecedented attack... the answer has to be unprecedented". Like Ukraine Lithuania has a sizeable ethnic Russian minority and could be concerned that what has played out in Ukraine could one day play out on Lithuanian territory.
